History

Activities:
Due to our fondness for equestrian activities, athletic ability was the starting point in our love for the Arabian horse. Despite this, the only activity in the 80`s for this breed was the show ring, where they were exhibited either in halter classes or under saddle.
The Argentine Arabian Breeders Association eventually organized a program of long-distance rides, in which we obtained very good results. In the following years, a program for sport driving began to take shape and became an important activity for us. In the 90`s the AACCA created a Racing program for the Arabian breed in the San Isidro, Palermo and La Plata racetracks. This activity was familiar to us due to our previous experience with Thoroughbreds in which we obtained a few prizes. As with the Thoroughbreds, we were also successful with our Arabians in this sport.
At the end of the 90´s, Endurance was introduced in Argentina with the F.E.I. (International Equestrian Federation) and it is in this sport that we discovered that the Arabian horse is capable of proving its natural racial qualities of intelligence, wonderful disposition, docility, rusticity and stamina. We proudly mention international achievements in this sport, such as three world speed records, by our horses RO SAAD, on 120 Km, RO NILO (alias SUPER) and RO FABIOLA, both on 160 Km, during 2004 and 2005, in United Arab Emirates.
Genetics and Breeding Stock:
We started breeding Arabians on our farm in 1982, with a stallion called HAZ SARIF (bred by Mr. Mario Conforti) and three Ayerza broodmares acquired at the traditional “Rural Exposition” in Buenos Aires. They added a few carefully chosen Thoroughbred mares to the stud, to breed Anglo-Arabians as well. Not long after, HARAFE, a stallion of the Ayerza lineage, was acquired from the prestigious “Haras La Catalina”, whose owners, Georgina Pelham and her family, became very close friends of ours. They greatly stimulated our enthusiasm for the Arabian horse.
In the year 1987, we purchased a Polish stallion called SIR WM PAKASO, from Count Federico Zichy Thyssen, adding to our breeding program the virtues of his bloodline, which we had been studying closely in international publications. His extraordinary movement, conformation and incredible docility enthralled us. His numerous offspring have given us many satisfactions in riding contests and the beginnings of endurance competitions in Argentina as well as on the racetrack. We proudly remember RO ZADRA and RO SADAT at the racetrack, RO DALAL, RO DAKAR and RO TOPAZ in the riding and endurance competitions, and RO SETH and RO MUGAMIR in the various mounted games.

Between 1991 and 2000, we made a careful selection of mares and imported many from Brazil. Our aim always being Polish-Russian genes, good conformation and movement, united to the unmistakably beautiful Arabian type.

Amongst these mares, we are proud to mention: DAY LOVE (EUKALYPTUS & EASTER LOVER), PRAVDA DSA (PADRON & TIGRESZONA x PRINCE RAFFDAZON), KHADJANE (PADRON & KHARASUL x IOVANHOE TSATAM), BASADRON (PADRON & BASKSHEBA x BASK), A SPECIAL FEATURE (GDANSK y WINDFEATURE x FIREWIND), PACIFIC FLEET (COGNAC & A SOUTH PACIFIC x ALADDINN), NORAYHA-NA (EL SHAKLAN & PADRONS NANTASHA x PADRON), PADRONS NANTASHA (PADRON & NANTASHA x NIGATT), HAFATI BARBARA (RSD DARK VICTORY & SINGULAR SENSATION x GOLD KRUGERAND), PROMESSES KEPT (PADRONS PSYQUE & ALLISHAH x BEY SHAH), BALLYMOSS (NAJSAD & TIARAAA x MAG), TOUCH A SPICE (DWD TABASCO & BASK CARESS x BASK), EWITA (ETAT & ESPAZADE x ESPARTERO).

Today we have many of their daughters on our farm and they in turn are breeding fourth generation females.

In 1992, after long commercial dealings, we imported WAGRAM from Poland. It was love at first sight when we saw this stallion at the Young-Horse Show on the Warsaw racetrack. WAGRAM, with his combination of Polish and Russian genes, matched our criteria of breeding athletic Arabian horses. WAGRAM gained for Los Estribos the international recognition it enjoys today, through three of his offspring, in endurance competitions in the United Arab Emirates: RO NILO (alias SUPER), RO SAAD and RO FABIOLA, all world speed records. And in OUR national Argentine context he produced for us two 160 km National Champion mares, RO ORQUÍDEA and RO NADIA.
Later, we imported the well-known Polish stallion ETAT, in society with Haras Cal Ramon. This Polish-blood stallion had an outstanding turf campaign in Poland and was father of many important horses in Europe and in the United States, where his daughter PERLA, was American National Champion.
With ETAT, our stud began exporting frozen semen.
In the year 2000, we imported the one-year-old MAGICS MARK CAF from the United States, also with the idea of injecting a new packet of genes into our stock and complement the Polish-Russian line. He was classified Reserved Grand Champion Stallion, Palermo 2002, and he also won several Ridden Championships.
In the year 2001, we imported from Brazil Aladdinn Torch (US), continuing with the Polish-Russian blood. His outstanding pedigree, based on chief sires as Aladdinn and Muscat. He produced sons with very good sport careers as RO Citrus (Argentine National Champion in 120km), RO Nepal and RO Casanova, among others. Sadly, he died a few years after of a chronic respiratory disease.
In 2009, unexpectedly died our main stallion, Wagram (PL), of a massive heart attack. To replace him, we chose his son, RO Centurion; from a winners producer dam line (full brother of the famed RO Fabiola) and with excellent conformation and disposition. His endurance career is outstanding, as also is his print at passing his good traits to his offspring. In January 2019, his first daughter to ever race endurance, and at the age of 6, got an impressive 2nd position in the Shk Zayed bin Mansoor bin Zayed al Nahyan Juniors and Young Riders Endurance Cup 120km race held in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, with an average speed of 27,9 km/h.
In the year 2016, seeking to open our genetic pool, based on Wagram´s daughters (as guarantee of athletic ability), we added the young stallion SI Palenque (CHI), bred at San Ignacio breeding farm of José Miguel García, who is our partner in this new project. His Russian and French bloodlines as Persik and Djelfor and with half-brothers having great results in their sport careers in Europe and United Arab Emirates, has us full of expectations for his offspring.

Facilities

The stud grew in requirements and we eventually tripled the initial size of the farm and planted more than 500 trees of different species. We purchased agricultural equipment and hired experts to plant pastures in the fields, thus enabling us to feed the horses with the best grasses throughout the year. We enlarged the existing personnel quarters, the schooling areas for the horses were improved and we erected corrals for the better management of the herd. We had a saddle-room and vet-room built and the existing stables rebuilt and enlarged. We also incorporated a treadmill and a walking machine.

As the quality of our stallions became renowned and demand for them became greater, we built a laboratory for the extraction and freezing of semen and hired a full-time veterinarian.

Eduardo's passion for sport driving, which he long time practiced with Arabians, has given him great satisfaction and success in Argentina and internationally. In order to cover our requirements in this field, we had an elegant and functional coach-room built, for the carriages and harnesses of daily use. It has been and continues being a long way seeking constantly for self-improvement.
